Xylitol is an all-natural sugar alternative that tastes and looks like sugar but that is where the similarities end. Our bodies produce Xylitol daily during normal metabolism. It is found naturally in berries, mushrooms, lettuce, corn cobs and hardwood trees like Birch. Xylitol metabolism is mostly insulin-independent, as indicated by its low Glycemic Index of 7.

Founding director, Carolyn Hartz is an energetic business woman, mother and former Australian Mannequin of the Year who has struggled with
blood sugar related problems for many years.

Having been an ex state netballer, A-grade tennis player and recently competed at the World Masters Tournament in Portland, USA where her basketball team won a bronze medal, Carolyn has always been interested in fitness and health.

She longed for the day when she would feel no
guilt when she ate sweets.

How it Happened
Imagine her delight when two years ago on a trip to New York she met DR Fran Gare, a Naturopathic Physician who was the former Director of Nutrition at The Atkins Centre for Complimentary Nutrition. She had also co-authored four books with The DR. ATKINS!

Fran had treated thousands of patients with blood sugar disorders. She had been certain that most sugar alternatives were unhealthy and caused blood sugar fluctuations. Then one day she found The Sweet Miracle of Xylitol (and wrote a book with that title)
