This is a great dessert that can be assembled so easily using three of our sugar free recipes, plus the easiest custard recipe you will find!



  1. Roughly chop the jelly and place in the bottome of the bowl.
  2. Slice the Swiss Roll and place around the edges of the dish.
  3. Pour in the custard, allowing it to fill the spaces between the Swiss Roll.
  4. Place 4 big scoops of whipped cream on top of the custard.
  5. Top with the berries of your choice and sprinkle with toasted coconut.

Easy Sugar Free Custard

  • 300 ml thickened cream
  • 3 X large egg yolks 
  • 1½  tbspns Perfect Sweet® xylitol


Gently heat the cream in a small saucepan. Do not let it boil or cream will separate.

While the cream is heating, beat the egg yolks with the xylitol in a bowl until golden yellow and smooth then strain into clean bowl.

Pour the warm cream into the egg mixture and stir continually. Return custard to saucepan on a low heat and stir gently while it thickens. It should be thick enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Remove it from the heat and leave to cool down.

Use the leftover egg whites for an omelette in the morning or make mini meringues and put aside to decorate your Christmas Trifle.
