Beetroot Supercharge Bowl
This beetroot supercharge bowl is so nutritious– when I’m eating it I know that the beets are working on my liver and the protein is boosting my energy. It’s a great way to support your digestive system, balance detoxification and start up your metabolism. Start the morning with this smoothie and you will feel energized and healthy!
- ½ – ¾ cup plant based milk (almond or coconut)
- ½ fresh or frozen banana
- ½ cup frozen cherries
- ½ cup frozen raspberries
- ½ raw beetroot (washed + peeled)
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- ½ tsp Perfect Sweet xylitol (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon coconut butter
Starting with the milk, place all of the ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until smooth.
Decorate as you like, we added desiccated coconut, pomegranate seeds and crushed walnuts with a sprig of mint....delicious!
If you do not have a high speed blender, use a little more milk and grate the beetroot before adding.
Beetroot is now available cooked and peeled in a vacuum sealed bag, in the fruit and vegetable section of your supermarket. You can use it in this recipe but you will not get the same level of dietary nitrates in your smoothie as you would if using raw beetroot.
