Spicy Mulled Wine

I love a mug of hot mulled wine!  It’s not the type of recipe that I usually promote, but these long, cold days of winter and lockdown need a bit of spicing up!  Easy to make, easier to drink, perfectly pairs with one of our delicious sugar free chocolate cakes or a cheese and biscuit platter.  


  • 1.5 litres of red wine
  • 100g SlimSweetTM Monk Fruit Sweetener, to taste
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 cloves
  • 4 star anise
  • 5 sprigs of thyme
  • 1 peeled orange rind


  1. Add all the ingredients to a large saucepan.
  2. Bring to the simmer, while constantly stirring.
  3. Cover the pot and let simmer on low heat for 30 minutes. 

Serve and enjoy!
